Why is education important for girls and women?

Education plays a very important role in the life of human beings. It is the fundamental right and every human must be educated irrespective of the gender. India is a developing country, so the importance of education is become more vital in India. The Indian government is also giving importance for “Education to All” and to promote the same in the society, running several programs in the school/colleges like scholarships, midday meals, less fess or fee waive for unprivileged students in government schools, free books, and many more.

Educating a woman means educating the family, nation, & society. There is a famous proverb “if you educate a boy then a single-family is benefited and if you educate a girl then two families will be benefited”

Better education for children: Educated women can provide better education to their children. Mother is always the first teacher and to make a family educated, there is a need for an educated mother. Every mother wants her children to be well educated and to achieve this, a woman must be educated and independent. It also helps the woman to live a healthy & happy life.

Economic development and prosperity: Development & the prosperity of any country depends upon their citizens. Females population contribution in India is approximately 50% and if they are deprived of Education, how could we become developed. Hence for the development of the entire nation, we should make our woman educated as well.

Economic empowerment of women/girls: Education makes a person independent & confident. When a woman is educated, she could make prudent decisions, contribute to the financial expenditure of the family, manage the household expenses wisely, save money for the future crisis, etc. She can also become the helping hands in the times of crisis

A healthy life of the family: An educated woman understands the importance of health and hygiene. Various studies have released the data which proves that a female with an education background has fewer chances of child mortality rate as she takes precaution as per the requirement. She takes care of what to eat and what to avoid during pregnancy that results in the healthier babies.

Quick skills learning: An educated female can learn things quickly and easily. So, even though a woman will be becoming a housewife in the future, education will help her in her daily tasks.

Improve poverty: The education of women is important to lighten poverty. Women need to take equal responsibility for the massive task of eliminating poverty and it is not possible unless girls and women are given their rights for education. An educated woman will also get better job opportunities allow their children for a better life.

Fight for justice: The education of women helps in the understanding of various rights and the right for justice is one of them. It eventually declines the instances of violence and injustice against women such as dowry, forced-prostitution, child-marriage, female foeticide, etc.

Upgrade the thinking level of the females: Education also broadens the thinking level of the females. She understands the difference between good and bad and it helps them to handle life problems in a more logical way. It makes the woman more creative and develops unique thoughts.

These above mentioned reasons are more than sufficient and hence proved that woman education is very important for every country.
